I strongly oppose EPA’s terrible Mercury and Air Standards rule that would crush the helpless, shut off our heat and light, and skyrocket our electric bills to life-threatening levels – all for no health gains.
 
EPA’s so-called “facts” about coal-fired power plants are concocted and false, as we know now from many recently noted studies that EPA scientists left out of EPA’s public statements.
 
EPA’s scare tactics to shut down coal-fired plants pose very significant economic and health threats to every American – unaffordable prices, malnutrition and starvation of the poor, death from heat and cold for the very young and elderly, and impoverishment of vulnerable workers that EPA’s rules will put in desperate situations. 
 
Put simply, EPA’s horrifying standards will destroy the lives of millions of Americans. By shutting down power plants and sending electricity prices beyond our reach, the rules will cripple our nation. And I find that your alleged economic benefits and health savings look like pure speculation that no one can take seriously.
 
We've fought all our lives for a better life, and EPA is unjustly telling us to roll back our economic and civil rights progress. It's time we forced agencies like EPA to listen to us – and do honest, unbiased research – before ordering us to obey rules that will hurt those we love and wreck all we have worked to build.
 
I respectfully urge you to withdraw your Mercury and Air Standards rules, which I strongly oppose.
